Finding Our Potential For Greatness

Dr. Clifford Webb is considered one of the leading authorities on the power of the human mind and one of the first persons in the United States to get a doctorate degree in hypnotherapy. He has studied the magnificent computer of our mind for over 45 years and has helped thousands of indivduals, in all walks of life to reach their full potential: to lose weight, to quit smoking to become better students, athletes, salespeople, parents, and human beings. Where did all of this begin?

He was a young psychology student over 45 years ago with a young family when he set a goal for himself to get his bachelors degree in less than three years and do so by working so that his wife could be a "STAY AT HOME MOM". To do this, he had to work two jobs but he learned about this magnificent computer in his mind while studying in his psychology books. He realized this part of the mind never sleeps and so he set an impossible goal that he could not have accomplished, had he not read something exciting in one of his psychology books that changed his life: he read that the subconscious part of the mind never sleeps. He decided to put this theory to a test. He put his learning material on a recording device and played that recording during the night as he slept. The next day he would have full recall and he was able to graduate from college in two and a half years with honors. This set him on a fabulous journey to learn more about the human mind and our potential for greatness.

Welcome to my happy world!

Hello, Friends: Saturday, July 31 2011

Welcome to my world. This is my first blog... ever! As time goes on, it is exciting to learn new tools in which to communicate with our friends and clients. The world has evolved from carbon paper and typewriters as it was when we first started Better Life Attitudes, and we are learning to embrace these wonderful new avenues of communication.

My wife and I have decided to start this blog in hopes that we can share our 45 plus years of experience and knowledge with the power of the subconscious mind, and the ways it can limit us when we fail to understand its power over our actions... or broaden and strengthen us when used correctly. Our personal motivation for this blog is to help each and every one of you discover the amazing power within yourselves.

As with our vast CD library and personal seminars, we will concentrate on self improvement by using the power of suggestion over our thoughts and habits. We will tackle various subjects such as weight loss, smoking cessation, and stress management.

Many of you readers first came to know us during our frequent travels speaking across the United States. As we get older, we travel less often, but still love the connections we’ve made and hope to continue sharing our knowledge and experiences.

Through this blog, I hope to share my out look on my life. I am a strong advocate of both feeling good and helping others feel good. I believe that a great deal of illness can be eliminated merely by giving yourself positive thoughts frequently.

I have a few idiosyncracies that some think are rather unusual. Perhaps the most outstanding one is when some one asks me "How are you doing?" I almost always reply, "Today is the best day of my life." For my repeating friends, they will follow with a "How can that be, you said that same expression yesterday?" my retort is "Well, yesterday was the best day of my life and now today is even better than yesterday." They will generally lower their head, mumble something not repeatable, and walk on without further comment. Telling others I’m having the best day of my life is my favorite statement. I believe that expression is much better instead of "Fine, or not too bad, or pretty good, or so, so or pretty good because today is Friday."

Those expressions do not show one wit of originality or make anyone feel better or even put the slightest smile on their face. Would it not be so much better if they used an expression that makes them feel better or make their day have a little more sunshine in it?

I also love to tell a joke or funny story just for the joy of putting a smile on someone’s face. A smile is contagious and I’ve found that everyone loves to surround themselves with other people that are light-hearted and optimistic. Sharing your troubles may lighten your load but doesn’t do anything to help someone else’s demeanor. As I’ve long since preached "Fake it until you make it", and faking a great mood literally translates into getting in a great mood and lifting the mood of others you encounter.

The one thing in my life that makes my life so full of joy is simply being around my wife. My wife is the ideal example of being a perfect companion. In our 57 years of marriage, I have never once heard my wife lose her temper, use profanity or gossip about anyone. She is the ideal example of what a wife should be. (I must admit she can be rather boring at time because she absolutely refuses to gossip.) I may occasionally come across some juicy gossip that no one has ever heard before but she will plug her ears with cotton and send me a "give it up frown".

She also always says something in our conversations that builds me up. When this life is over, all I want is for the Creator to let my wife be with me. Then that truly will be HEAVEN. I promise you that if my wife is called to heaven (and if I make it) prior to my availability, I’ll hang around for three more days to attend her funeral and then I’ll give it up and follow her. Without her, there will be no heaven.

I promise that all my future blogs won’t be my ravings regarding my perfect wife. Instead, here is what you can expect to read in the upcoming weeks. 1. The ultimate way to build a better self image. 2. The power of suggestions. 3. Building successful health habits including controlling your weight. 4. Becoming the person you have always wanted to be. 5. The power of making more friends. 6. How to develop a charisma that others will be envious of. I’ll be discussing a variety of subjects along these lines that will help improve your overall mental well being and your relationships. I believe that through the power of positive thinking you can improve every aspect of your life... physically, mentally and spiritually.

As I close this post, I invite you to share your stories and thoughts with us. If you’ve been to any of our seminars, please feel free to share your experiences. Or, if you have any questions, or suggested topics you’d like me to answer, I’ll gladly respond.
